Craftsmanship Process
1st Firing: Clay to Porcelain at 1380°C
Master kiln artisans handpick pieces with exceptional glaze finishes for artistic design. Teapots and lidded bowls boast an extremely low yield rate, rendering each piece a rare treasure.
2nd Firing: Design & Composition Lines
Every glaze variation is utterly unique and uncontrollable by human hands—echoing the ancient Jingdezhen adage: "One hue enters the kiln, ten thousand hues emerge". Glaze shifts naturally with the size of cutout windows, and each piece is crafted with a one-of-a-kind design.
3rd Firing: Glass White – Depth & Dimension
This painstakingly slow process uses raw ore glass white, which becomes highly fluid when mixed with water (demanding complete calm from the artisan). The paste, like water, must build layers of thickness, giving wares striking visual depth and a tactile richness. To the touch, their substantial thickness evokes the imagery of "a mythical beast half slumbering on a bronze stone wall, half stirring to life".
4th Firing: Coloring & Wash Dyeing
Vivid pigments are applied in perfect harmony with the glaze, tailored to the theme of the hand-painted scenes.
5th Firing: Pure Gold Gilding
Following age-old Jingdezhen wisdom (benjin or "pure gold"), gold is ground into powder and blended with milk sesame oil—an essential step to bind the gold to the porcelain for painting and firing.
Craftsmanship Timeline
Each firing cycle takes 12–14 hours, with every piece undergoing meticulous handwork by day and firing by night.
